Saskatoon, October 3, 2016 - The Lung Association of Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club are teaming up for lung health! To help bring awareness about the powerful organs that allow us to live and breathe, five players from the Saskatoon Blades will be visiting schools in Saskatoon and area this fall to talk about how youth can keep their lungs healthy.
On Tuesday, October 4, we invite all media outlets to attend a presentation at Henry Kelsey School, 16 Valens Drive, from 9:30 - 10:15 am. Players from the Saskatoon Blades as well as Jennifer May, Vice President of Health Promotion from The Lung Association of Saskatchewan, will be available for interviews after the presentation.
“We are excited to have Brock Hamm, Ryan Graham, Wyatt Sloboshan, Mason McCarty, and Josh Paterson from the Saskatoon Blades as our Lung Ambassadors. These players are role models to many youth in our province and we are thrilled that they are empowering students to protect their lungs,” says May. “We are also excited to feature presentation music arranged by DJ Rabenga!”
The Lung Association and The Saskatoon Blades are also organizing a special fundraising opportunity for all Saskatoon and surrounding area schools and sports teams. They invite schools and teams to sell tickets to the Saskatoon Blades game on Friday, November 26, 2016. Tickets are $15 each ($5 goes to the school or team, $5 goes to The Lung Association and $5 goes to the Saskatoon Blades). It’s a WIN. WIN. WIN.
